What we need….                          

Having launched TOMS and Timbuk2 in the Australian Market within the last year, we are looking for a passionate and experienced merchant with hands on experience as either a Buyer or Merchandise Planner in the retail industry. This position requires a highly motivated, dynamic and confident individual who has the ability and acumen to authentically represent both Brands across a retail / wholesale omni channel environment.

About You

This role will be based at our Support Office in Brighton and will suit a strategic, innovative and results driven Merchandise Buyer / Planner ready to take the next step in joining a rapidly growing organisation. Reporting to the General Manager – New Business you will play a pivotal role in driving the business forward. You will identify merchandise opportunities and evolve the product range across our stores, online and our wholesale distribution channels.

To be considered for this vacancy you will be customer-focused, and you will also possess the following

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager, Brands and key stakeholders to deliver the merchandise strategy 
  • Prepare, plan and place seasonal buys ensuring accurate quantification for multiple channels and necessary timelines. 
  • Prepare, plan and place seasonal buys with a view to achieving budgeted margins, and gross profit. 
  • Identify and ensure key items are never out of stock 
  • Review identify and action end of season clearance strategy and quit cycles.    
  • Prepare and present Post Season analysis – providing insight and recommendation going forward, by style and by category  
  • Present at Pre and Post Regional Ranging meeting with both Brand provide feedback  
  • Attend Regional Ranging meetings - Overseas travel twice a year. 
  • Ensure accuracy by reviewing cancellations and replenishment prepared by allocators each week  
  • Communicate across all levels of the business.
