We have a rare and exciting full time opportunity for a highly passionate, proactive and motivated individual to join our Support Office Team as an Assistant Accountant.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, as our Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for providing assistance with administrative and financial reporting to various stakeholders, through accurate and timely processing of financial information.

You will have a positive customer service attitude, strong ability to foster good working relationships, possess excellent communications skills, a “can do” attitude and thrive on working in a fast paced energetic environment.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Daily & weekly sales reporting
  • Preparation and calculation of incentive (bonus) reports
  • Preparation and maintenance of the uniform allowance to ensure accuracy in termination, promotions and various other entitlements
  • Bank reconciliations, e.g. follow-up and management of banking issues, shortfalls with stores and other stakeholders
  • Credit note and gift voucher maintenance
  • Credit card processing and reconciliations
  • Superannuation calculation and liability reconciliations
  • PAYG/BAS calculation and liability reconciliations
  • Various other general ledger reconciliations 
  • Adhoc reports as required

What makes you the right person?

  • Bachelor of Accounting (or equivalent) an advantage
  • Previous experience in the retail industry an advantage
  • Previous experience in accounting/bookkeeping an advantage
  • Demonstrated analytical and numerical skills
  • Good understanding and experience using MS Excel
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills - a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude with strong service orientation  
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to multi-task/prioritise daily work
  • Self-motivator with strong work ethic and ability to work within set deadlines
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks on a day-to-day basis and prioritise workload accordingly
  • You will be a proactive team player, flexible and collaborative, while staying focused to deliver results

High energy levels and caring about what you do is critical to succeeding in this position as is team spirit and open communication.
